About BROKEN MOUTH | Lee's Homestyle

BROKEN MOUTH is an original food concept founded and operated by local Hawai’i boy, Tim Lee. From the fondest memories of childhood spent around the dinner table, we bring Korean homestyle food of Hawai'i to Downtown Los Angeles, in efforts to share Tim’s love for food and family. Our guests dining with us are invited to catch a glimpse into our home with the belief that food is a universal language, breaking boundaries across all cultures.

BROKEN MOUTH | Lee's Homestyle is an asian fusion in Los Angeles, California. It is listed at 718 S Los Angeles St, Los Angeles, CA 90014, which places it among the local businesses of Los Angeles that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Los Angeles, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 12–6 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (213) 418-9588. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is eatbrokenmouth.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.9 out of 5 on Google across 764 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded asian fusion in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Los Angeles is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I’ve been dreaming about Broken Mouth food since coming here two years ago. Their Garlic Shrimp and the Beef dish are my absolute fave. Not just here for the food, but the owner himself is the nicest, most hardworking person with the warmest hospitality. He takes his time to make sure that his customers have an amazing experience and have everything they need from their order. Always our favourite coming here! Need a place like this back home in Toronto!

This spot is so awesome Timothy Lee the chef/ owner is one the kindest and coolest dudes around with a tremendous love and passion for food and culture I ordered the meat plate with Mac salad and for $30 you get a HUGE portion. I was able to split this into 3 meals and probably could’ve gone to 4 even. The rice is excellent, the Mac salad is insanely good and one of the best and most unique versions I’ve had, and that beef - WOW. Tender, juicy, flavorful, coated in fluffy egg batter. This is the best version of home cooking and comfort food there is

Yelp’s #1 in 2023 and 4.8 rating by 2000+ raters couldn’t be more convincing. Nonetheless, the long-line and long-wait comments were terrifying. Good thing, I figured that online pre-order’s available and pickup time could also be preset, TOTAL WIN! Occupying a space in this fully air-conditioned food-court alike space in downtown, it’s pretty convenient dining area. Besides, weekend lunch time wasn’t as insanely crowded as I imagined (not sure if it’s just coincidence). The attendant was super kind and attentive, making the experience seamless. I got their beef as protein, served with your choice of sides, which I went for the purple rice and Korean greens. The beef was juicy and tender, surprisingly more on the sweet side (I expected it to be savory), but it’s such delectable astonishment. Besides, the tangy savory dipping sauce balanced it flawlessly. Portion wise OMG certainly worth the bucks. Tons of carbs and proteins, and for me this could easily go into 2 servings. Not to forget, even the sides were so good; the rice somewhat reminded me of sticky rice and the Korean Greens seasoning was my highlight! Should you wanna splurge like me, go for extra grilled sausages. My gu

just WOW!!!! Came all the way from Texas with the intention of trying this place after seeing it on TT and I’d go again just to eat here again and again. We got the garlic shrimp and beef with Mac salad & it was amazing 😍 we ordered last minute and they didn’t cut any corners with our food and the owner (i think it was the owner) gave us complimentary drinks. Service was immaculate and even though we came almost at closing (traffic was terrible coming from Hollywood) we were still greeted and welcomed. :)

The eatery is located on the outskirts of Little Tokyo in Downtown LA. Anticipate a difficult time finding parking. We found street parking that was $6/hr. This place is located in a small food court that features a few other eateries as well. Not too crowded when we came around 2 PM on a Friday but I can imagine it would get crowded during regular meal times. The building overall gives a very modern grunge vibe. Not my typical cup of tea but that’s LA for ya. The food itself was excellent. We got the local breakfast, galbi plate, and 1 spam musubi. Everything came with purple rice which I LOVE. The cashier (maybe manager or owner??) threw in some free drinks and a free spam musubi on the house which brought the amount of food we got versus how much we paid (~$60 pre tip) up to par with my expectations. Super grateful to him for hooking it up. So overall, food is excellent, location is not. But if you can see past that, would definitely warrant at least one visit.
